High efficiency current controlled power supply delivers over 100 watts of power to this directed energy beam device. Intended for engraving, cutting all kinds of plastics, cloths and similar material. See a weird effect as the beam cuts through over 1 meter of styrofoam block! When used with a simple lens this laser can cut through a rock.

Cutting 1.5' Foam - 2 watt 445nm - Focal point?
![Styrofoam Styrofoam](https://jtechphotonics.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/Foam-Board-Cutting-1W-Laser.jpg)
Hey everyone. Recently built my first CNC laser engraver/cutter. Only am using a 2 watt 445nm currently as I thought for my purposes (primarily cutting foam) that it would suffice. It seems to be doing an OK job, but I am having troubles determining the best focal point for the lens, and my results seem a little inconsistent in cutting through the 1.5' of open cell foam.
Any suggestions on where to focus the beam? Top of foam, bottom of foam, mid point, some other depth?
